Paula
Williams was born and raised in Chicago, IL to Amos and Rosa Wilson.
She is the only girl of five other children, all brothers. Paula began
singing as a young child. Growing up, at family gatherings, she and her
second oldest brother were made to sing almost every weekend. This was
somewhat of a family tradition.
At 11 years
old, Paula accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and joined the youth
choir at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church on the south side of
Chicago. There she was one of the lead vocalists and also directed the
choir from time to time.
Paula married
her eighth-grade sweetheart, Clarence Williams. They had two children,
a daughter and a son. Paula and her family live in a south suburb of
Chicago.
In 1987, Paula
and her family became members of a non-denominational church known at
that time as The House of Glory. The name of the church has since
changed to Family Harvest Church located in the southwest suburbs of
Chicago. Paula is ever grateful to her Pastor, Dr. Robb Thompson. He
has been a great inspiration in her life. At her church, Paula is one
of the worship leaders, lead vocalists, and soloists.
Church has
always been Paula’s home base. There she draws spiritual strength and
guidance. This is also where here biggest audience is. She is a
powerful, anointed singer. Paula loves ministering to the audience
because “it’s not just singing, it’s true ministry.” Paula’s prayer is
that when she sings, people will be saved, healed and delivered from
whatever their problems are.
It has always
been Paula’s desire to record an album, but she decided to not push the
issue. In other words, she was not going to make it happen on her own.
Her prayer was that if this was truly something that God wanted for her,
then He would have to open the right doors. Thanks be to God, He did.
Paula has learned that you have to do things in the right season. Well,
her season has come. Praise God!
